Prayers for the Bride

What Should We as the Church Pray For?

This is a question we will attempt to answer here. We are not going to come up with any new concept but we will talk about what we believe prayer is and what we believe prayer is not.

We believe the Bride of Christ is being misled in its’ “prayer life”. You must first understand a little about Christianity, it is not a performance based religion, it is relationship based. What does that mean? We hope to answer that in the days, months and years to come.

You will not get closer to God the Father by praying longer or harder, you will only get closer by “drawing near to Him” and we believe this is the difference many do not understand. in the church today.

What will this be? We will attempt to lead you into all Truth using the word of God, the Bible. If that offends you, you may ant to find another blog to follow.

This is an introductory post to introduce ourselves and what we are planning to do. We hope you enjoy our site but our prayer is you grow in grace and knowledge in our Lord and Savior…Jesus.

Right now our prayer is for POWER!!! We believe the Bride of Christ is lacking power. We have the power of God available to use every second of every day but we do not know how to exercise this awesome gift from God…Why? We have an enemy that is very, very good at deception.

We will learn how to battle Satan and all he stands for, then we will destroy his works and grip on your life.

Until next time, remember to Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

Blueprint for the Bride of Christ part 04

0 Blueprint for the Bride of Christ part 04Acts 17:7
“these all do contrary to the decrees1378 of Caesar”

In Colossians 2:20 dogma or rather another form of the same word dogma, dogmatizo, dog-mat-id`-zo; 1379 is actually used in context with the phrase “doctrines of men.”

“[W]hy, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,1379 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?” (Colossians 2:20-22)

The Pharisees had laws scrutinizing one’s every deed. Could this be what Paul is referring to when he said, “Touch not; taste not; handle not”? As we continue we will see but so far it appears as though the word ordinance or dogma in Colossians 2:14 appears to be identifying doctrines of men.

Let’s see what the Bible Commentary have to say about Colossians 2:14?

“Ordinances, Gr. dogmata, ‘decrees,’ ‘statutes,’ refers to the various laws and decrees of the Jewish legal system such as terminated at the cross” (7BC 204).

What is the Jewish legal system?
Well in the Desire of Ages, chapter entitled Days of Conflict pages 84-86, give us a good picture of what this system was all about and what the child Jesus went through dealing with it. The following is a list of ten descriptive phrases taken from this chapter.

1. Rabbinical laws
2. Rigid rules for every act, down to the smallest details of life.
3. Countless regulations
4. Their requirements were in constant collision with the requirements of God.
5. Christ could not obey the inventions of men.
6. No authority could be found in Scripture for their traditions.
7. Theories of their own invention.
8. Christ could not sanction the mingling of human requirements with the divine precepts.
9. They urged Him to receive the maxims and traditions that had been handed down from the ancient rabbis.
10. Caused faithless services

By this we can see that the Jewish legal system truly was contrary and against the people. This is what Paul was referring to in Colossians 2:14.

“The added regulations, together with the involved interpretations, served to modify the force and function of the original commands.” (6BC 1009)

We vividly remember the numerous occasions when this system spied out the deeds of Jesus that they might accuse Him. Often they charge Him with breaking the Sabbath because He healed their diseases on the Sabbath.

• Their dogma prevented salvation from extending past the Jews, this was truly contrary and against the people preventing the Gentiles from being brothers in Christ. This is what Paul is addressing in Ephesians 2:15 but that is another study.

• Divine law has never been against the people but for them; such as the sacrificial laws that pointed to the coming Redeemer, the bridal price to be paid and was fulfilled.

• If the Mosaic Law was against the people why did Moses not extract the mixed multitude in the wilderness, like the Jewish leaders did who enforced segregation? But rather…

• Within the Levitical law are provisions, with certain conditions for the foreigners, to become apart of the family of God.

• Jesus’ linage is an example; Ruth and Rahab were not Jews.

Divine law sacrificial or moral has never been against the people but for the people.

“Christians commit a terrible mistake in calling this law severe and arbitrary, and then contrasting it with the gospel and mission of Christ in His ministry on earth, as though He were in opposition to the just precepts which they call the law of Moses.” (RH, May 6, 1875 par.12.)

That is speaking about us isn’t it? We have said the Mosaic Law or the Book of the Law deposited in the side of the ark was nailed to the cross, and even said it was contrary against us.

We have just finished identifying False Setting Number 1 ~ Let’s conclude this section with a final reading of Colossians 2:14 and include the definitions that we have learned.

“Blotting out the handwriting of [ecclesiastical man-made system of dogmas] that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.” Col 2:14.

When the sacrificial laws met their fulfillment at the cross, these man-made dogmas, used “to modify the force and function of the original commands,” also ended. (6BC 1009)

I do believe there is now irrefutable evidence that Colossians 2:14 can no longer be used as a proof text to say the Mosaic Law or Book of the Law deposited in the side of the ark was nailed to the cross.

Satan planned his hindrances well. Not only has he buried precious jewels of truth in false setting but remember the warning? He would deceive many to believe that old landmarks are being removed. (CW 31.1) Have we removed landmarks with this knowledge? No! Our landmark is the Scriptures. We have only dusted away dogma that has buried the precious jewels of truth,”(RH 12/15/1885) so that we can see the fresh new unfolding of the “OLD” (COL 127-8).

Blueprint for the Bride of Christ part 03

0 Blueprint for the Bride of Christ part 03As I began my studies~ I was surprised to learn, from looking up words in the Strong’s Concordance, that when the Hebrew and Greek were translated into English, often only one English word was used for several different Hebrew or Greek words. And in reading the Scriptures, we read our English understanding into the words and confidently believe we understand the author’s original intent. Consequently there are many interpretations of Scripture and as we will soon see many precious jewels of truth have been lost in false settings, as we will see.

Since we’ve been promised more light from the law, the transcript of Christ’s character, to begin our study, let’s look up the word law in the Strong’s Concordance to see what the definition would be. However, in view of the fact that there are several Hebrew words for the one English word law, how are we going to know which one will give us the definition for moral law? We have always said that the word law in Isaiah 8:20 is moral law. That verse reads as follows. “To the law and the testimony if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Here we see, in the Strong’s Concordance that the identification number for this particular word for moral law is 8451.

Before looking up the definition I was quite surprised to notice that not only did it say “law of the Lord” 8451 but also, over and over again it said “law of Moses” 8451.

I thought these were two different laws? “Shouldn’t they have two different numbers? I was also surprised by the definition the Strong’s Concordance gave.

8451. Torah, to-raw`; from 3384; a precept or statute, espec, the Decalogue, or Pentateuch: – law.

Torah?

That’s the first five books of the Bible. Shouldn’t the definition say just Decalogue? I thought the Moral Law was the Ten Commandments written on stone and “the Mosaic law of statutes and ordinances were ended at the cross.”

Thinking this would be easy to verify, I began a study on the “Law of Moses” and this is what I found.

The Mosaic Law “amplified principles of Decalogue” (PP 364);
The Mosaic Law was “designed to guard sacredness of Decalogue” (PP364).
“The law of Moses’ was to play an important part in helping people prepare for the day of the Lord” (4 BC 1134).

The Mosaic law was the “book deposited in the side of the ark of the covenant” PP466

But haven’t we always said that the book deposited in the side of the ark, was done away at the cross? And we use Colossians 2:14 as our proof text?

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross” (Colossians 2:14).

If this verse is our proof text then are we not saying that the Mosaic Law or the book of the law, deposited in the side of the ark is the same as the word ordinance in this verse? Well then let’s look up the word ordinance in the Strong’s Concordance and see what the definition would be.

However, there are six Greek words for the one English word ordinance. And the one in Colossians 2:14 is identified as number 1378.

1378 Dogma, a law civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical: — decrees, ordinances (Strong’s Concordance)

Since dogma is a word we use in the English language we should be able to get a definition from the dictionary.

1a: Something held as an established opinion; especially: a definite authoritative tenet b: A code of such tenets c: a point of view or tenets put forth as authoritative without adequate grounds 2: A doctrines or body of doctrines concerning faith and morals formally stated and authoritatively proclaimed by a church (Webster’s Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary)

Let’s review that definition:
• A point of view
• an opinion
• without adequate grounds
• authoritatively proclaimed by a church.

With a definition like this how can this word be representing divine law? This sounds like doctrines of men. Let’s dig a little deeper and see if the Bible will substantiate this?

In Luke 2:1 the word dogma is translated as decree,
“there went out a decree1378 from Caesar”

This is addressing a man-made Roman civil law, not divine law, also true in…

Acts 17:7
“these all do contrary to the decrees1378 of Caesar”

Blueprint for the Bride of Christ part 02

0 Blueprint for the Bride of Christ part 02“After the public rehearsal of the law, Moses completed the work of writing all the laws, the statutes, and the judgments, which God had given him, and all the regulations concerning the sacrificial system. The book containing these was placed in charge of the proper officers, and was for safe keeping deposited in the side of the ark.” (PP466) (Deut 31: 6)

Now since the sacrifices and oblations have ended at the cross, then what is left in the Mosaic Law or the Book of the Law? Isn’t it the Everlasting Covenant our Ketubah? The Mosaic law of statutes and ordinances that did not end at the cross but …

• “amplified principles of Decalogue” (PP 364);
• That are “designed to guard sacredness of Decalogue” (PP364).
• And are “to play an important part in helping people prepare for the day of the Lord” (4 BC 1134).
• All within the “book deposited in the side of the ark of the covenant” (PP466).

Now why was the Book of the Law placed in the side of the ark? We are told that it was placed there for “safe keeping” to be brought out “for future reference” (The Story of Redemption 171-2) and to be kept continually before the people (See Deut 31:10, 11).
False Setting Number 3

Now we have come to False Setting Number 3

“The Bible presents two laws, one changeless and eternal and the other provisional and temporary.” (PP370.)

We have identified these two laws as the
• Ten Commandment written on stone, changeless and eternal

• Mosaic Law, a handwritten manuscript such as provisional and temporary.

In that case, if the Mosaic Law or Book of the Law is only provisional and temporary then where do the statutes and ordinance of our covenant go?

ß Those of tithing
ß Those teaching the reverence and respect to God
ß Those against homosexuality
ß Those against incest
ß Those teaching clean and unclean meats
ß Those teaching principles of health
ß Those concerning marriage
ß The care of the servant
ß The treatment and the rights of the stranger
ß The care of the widow
ß Those teaching the principles of the Sabbath
ß And other religious laws such as crimes against God.

These we know are statutes of 2708 that are not ended that

• That “amplified principles of Decalogue” (PP 364)
• That are “designed to guard sacredness of Decalogue” (PP364)
• That was “to play an important part in preparing us for the day of the Lord” (4BC1134).
• And were to be continually kept before us. (The Story of Redemption 171-2) (See Deut 31:10, 11).

Most everyone has seen a contract. It has bold print headings and fine print that explains what is said in the bold print. Likewise our covenant with our Bridegroom also has bold print headings, which are the Ten Commandments and fine print, which amplify the headings. These are the statutes and ordinances that are everlasting as long as time should last. These statutes include the health laws that we do keep and civil laws that we also obey but do not enforce since we are not governed by a theocracy. Today governments hold the responsibility to enforce their own civil laws.

I have always thought that the word “commandments” meant the Ten Commandments exclusively. But the Hebrew word most often used for the word commandments is 4687 mitzvah, mits-vaw and is not defined as Decalogue but “collective law”. And The Lexical Aids in the Complete Word Study Bible by AMG Publishers defines mitzvah or “collective law” as “the law of Moses.” I am thankful that God is beginning to open up the eyes of His people to see these buried treasures. I have certainly been humbled realizing that, by not studying the Scriptures with a concordance most of my life, I have only been a surface reader.

Previously we have seen the Sinai Covenant as the Decalogue exclusively, but now we see that our covenant also includes the statutes 2708 which are called the fine print or the feminine part or special directions. ~ In the following quote we are told exactly where our covenant is found in Scripture.

“It was Jesus Christ Himself who gave special directions to Israel. … The Lord gave many other statutes or judgments, which were to be strictly obeyed. These are recorded in the twenty-first, twenty-second, and twenty-third chapters of Exodus.” (2 SAT 187.2 &3).

As I read I was quite surprised by some of the statutes that I found within these chapters and wondered how they applied to us today. But I am convinced as we study God will reveal to us how they apply for He has promised that would write all His character, His law upon our hearts.

“The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” Isaiah 24:5

Blueprint
for the bride of Christ

by Pam Benton
The earth is groaning with the signs of the times. We can see – the beast rising, its image beginning to take shape and move into position for battle. Right before our very eyes prophecy is being fulfilled! But when this happens, isnt the image of God to move into position and rise to even greater heights? The beast has a battle plan, but the strategy plan for Gods team is salvation through the new covenant relationship as symbolized by marriage. The big question is, Are we ready to be married?

In Bible times, a young man looking to be married would give the young lady that he hoped to be his bride a Ketubah, which was a very beautiful covenant contract for marriage. It was written with great care and forethought and given to her at a special dinner planned by her family. Written on this Ketubah Covenant was this young mans hearts desire; of how he loves and adores the young woman he hoped would be His bride; of his promises to her of all that he would be and how he would protect and provide for her; as well as his likes and dislikes, his favorite foods, his highest ideals, his standard of living, how he wanted his household run and his children raised. This covenant was basically, The Blueprint for the Bride.

When she is given the Ketubah, the silver trumpets are blown, and her suitor pours for her a cup of new wine, fresh fruit of the vine, the very best that money could buy, purchased for a sacrificial price. After pouring the cup, he first takes a sip and then waits for her to take a sip. When she does, it will signify that she has accepted all that the covenant contains. She may not go over and drink from it right away for she takes the covenant agreement very seriously and knows its a commitment for life. She is going to carefully read over every word. She may study it for hours, even into the night or until the next morning before she makes that commitment. Finally if she agrees, she will take a sip, and the betrothal is sealed. They are now bride and bridegroom and the silver trumpets blow again, making the announcement to all.

After the betrothal, they each return to their own fathers home and do not see each other for the following year, until the wedding day. During that year he not only builds her a home but he also supports her financially. And she studies her covenant, she reads it over and over again, she learns to cook His favorite foods, sings his favorite songs. She studies the Ketubah until she becomes the bride of his desire, the mirror image of her covenant promise.

We have been betrothed. God came to the betrothal Himself and gave the Ketubah Covenant and the silver trumpets were blown. We drank from the cup, signifying our commitment to keep all that it contained. However, speaking for myself, I was so excited about His promises that I quickly read through the Ten Bold Headings and readily agreed without thoroughly studying the entire covenant contract, such as the fine print under the Ten Bold Headings. In fact, I lost my Ketubah. It has been lost for quite some time. Also there seems to be a bit of confusion as to what exactly it contained. But I was so excited about the wedding and His promises that I forgot all about my part of the covenant agreement.

Now, its past time now for the wedding. Its past time for the bride to move into position; but is she ready? There is hope. We have been promised another angels message and it is to come down with power and great authority and the whole earth will be lightened up with His glory. This message is addressed to His people, not the world. We are His people, you and me, and His glory we know for weve been told, is His character. (The glory of God is Christs character, See Review and Herald, April 22, 1902.)
